Useful Information
Attendance

We appreciate a phone call before 8.45 (if possible) in the morning if your child will not be attending school that day because the school secretary will ring parents of children who are not at school and from whom we have not heard.

Before and After School Care

Before School Care

The Crofton Downs Primary School Board of Trustees offers Before School Care from 7.45 am to 8.30 am each day, with supervised play in the hall and the school grounds. The cost is $3.00 per day. Ask at the school office for further details.

After School Care

An After School Care programme is run independently at the school by Kids Co, from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday during the school term. Kids Co uses Room 1, the school hall and the school grounds and offers trained staff, quality sufficient food, rest time and resources for children explore, play and learn.

Kids Co also operates a Holiday Programme at Crofton Downs Primary School.

Wellington Woman magazine ran a feature on Kids Co in its Spring 09 issue. Click here to read "The next best place to home".

You can find further information and rates on Kids Co's Web Site, or contact Kids Co Director Josephine Coco on 04 479 7480 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Enrolments

Crofton Downs Primary School does not have an enrolment scheme which means children are welcome regardless of where they live.

Prospective parents are welcome to come and talk with Sue Ryan (Principal) and have a look around the school. Call 04 479 2429, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or simply drop by.

Homework

The amount of homework given will vary depending upon the age of the children. We like to think that everyone is encouraged tro read for a short time each night.

Most classes, other than junior classes, have a homework sheet which they are given on a Monday and it is expected back at school on a Friday.

Lost Property

If clothing is named it is very easy for us to return found belongings to their owner, unnamed clothing is much more difficult so we really appreciate it if a child's clothing is named.

If children choose to bring precious belongings to school, we are unable to take responsibility for them and it is therefore at their own risk.

We ask children to hand any valuable such as money to their teacher for safe keeping.
